MsgToPdfConverter exists because Outlook email files are surprisingly hard to open, share, and archive outside of Outlook itself. We built a tool focused on that one problem, instead of treating it as an afterthought inside a converter that handles a thousand other formats.

Why "converts everything" usually means "converts nothing well"

Most file converters treat email as an afterthought — one format among a thousand others they support. That breadth comes at a real cost when the format in question is as structurally particular as Outlook's MSG.

  • Headers get stripped or incomplete. Generic converters often don't preserve full sender, recipient, and timestamp data, since MSG's header structure isn't something a general-purpose parser is built to read closely.
  • Attachments get dropped. Without a converter designed to look inside the MSG container specifically, embedded attachments are easy to miss entirely.
  • Mac, Linux, and mobile users are often left out. Because MSG is a proprietary Outlook format, most tools that handle it assume Windows and Outlook are installed — which locks out anyone who isn't.

We built this tool to handle exactly one conversion — MSG and EML to PDF — properly, rather than adequately.
